New Year, New Goals. Isn’t that what we say every year? This time last year I had hoped to lose those pesky last 10 pounds, become this blogging phenomenon, have my face on television, while also engaging in many speaking gigs, and move my sweet, little (ha!) family back home to my beloved Arkansas. Well, it looks like none of those things came true. And for many a different reasons, but I seem to face this new year with almost the exact same goals. One thing at the top of many’s resolution list is their fight in the blessed weight battle. Isn’t that so cliche? Can I even say that really, because it’s one of my resolutions?! But instead of focusing on dress sizes, numbers on a scale, and what other people say I should look like, I want to be healthy. And that word can mean so many things to different people.
A couple months back I embarked on a journey to claim my body back after giving birth to my fifth child. Yes that blessed surprise caused my body to bloat and swell like nobody’s business, ha! (Really, you can look back and see the pictures!) Once she was born, I didn’t just want to drop the pounds, but I wanted to create a lifestyle that I was confident I could maintain and would make me one healthy and HOT (let’s be honest) mama. I began a work out that has become my addiction, started taking care of my body, and eating better. Which required me to drop the cheesecake and trade it in for something a little more sensible.
Bleh. Though the word sensible sounds boring it doesn’t mean your taste buds have to feel that way! These new Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed Bars are a beautiful, beautiful thing my friend. They let me snack when I “need” to snack, fuel me for my work out time, and just taste so darn good. I must say, I LOVE the crunch so much! In fact the new Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed Bars have some unique and fun ingredients, including chia seeds, flax and quinoa which come together to form two outstanding flavors – Honey Oat Flax and Chocolate Chip Chia.
My motto for 2014 is to make smart choices and not what feels good. Along with that comes these bars! No they aren’t a slice of pecan pie (that will stick to my hips like none other, ha!), but they are oh so tasty and I can feel good about eating them. Plus have you ever noticed that your children want to do/eat the same things you do, only because you do/eat them? New habits like eating these Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed bars can be quite beneficial in that area. My kids LOVE them too.
Except now I have to fight them for the last package…and that’s no fun, ha!
What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
Could these new Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed Bars help?!
