Mealtime with kids can be quite interesting and then multiplying that by FIVE, it can be down right insane. Especially when you add in a child bound and determined to be a picky eater. When they only want to live off of macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, but have a love of milk shakes, you have to get creative. And that, my friends, is exactly what we do around here, Family smoothie time. So I was thrilled to work with Enfagrow and try their Toddler Transitions and Toddler Next Step for our little ones.
These smoothies help our children get the nutrients they need without them even really knowing they are! They just love the taste, SCORE! Because we have a picky eater or two, finding facts like this really made us make a concentrated effort to help our children’s healthy development.
“On average, toddlers are only getting about 25% of the brain-nourishing DHA many experts recommend because it’s particularly hard to get from the foods toddlers typically eat. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid and a building block for the brain. Since 85% of brain growth happens within the first three years of a child’s life, it is important to maintain the recommended levels of DHA through the toddler years.”
After learning a little more on how to easily get DHA into our children’s diet, we came up with this tasty “milkshake”. And because I KNOW that I’m not the only parent out there struggling to get their children to eat, I figured sharing our recipe with our little “secret” ingredient might be nice, ha!
What you’ll need:
*2 cups of frozen fruit (we used blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple)
*1 cup of plain yogurt
*handful of spinach leaves (the kids NEVER knew it was in there, ha!)
*Enfagrow Toddler Next Step Natural Milk Flavor (mix 2/3 cup with 120z. of water)
You may have guessed it by now, but the Enfagrow Toddler Next Step is our secret ingredient. These toddler drinks are nutritionally tailored for toddlers one to three years and designed to complement a toddler’s regular diet. Mama’s little secret is helping her babies out!
Now back to this TASTY smoothie! Simply add all of the ingredients into the blender and blend thoroughly. Now if you REALLY want to be a cool parent, you’ll let your kids watch…just make sure they don’t see the spinach go in, ha!
How would you like to try these products out yourself?! Well, we will be giving away an Enfagrow gift package (ARV $38) that will include the following:
*One Toddler Transitions Can (21oz.)

We just started using Enfagrow for our picky toddler who needs to put on some weight but doesn’t always want to eat. He loves it so far and I’m excited to try it as a smoothie!
It has the nutrition that I am looking for, because my daughter is a picky eater, and not eating much a one time, I have to admit, it does worry me sometimes. Thanks for this chance to try it. 🙂 Paula C. – tenderninnie at aol dot com
