Last week we were given the opportunity to test drive the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. We love the people at Grapevine Lincoln and they sent us off with the car, $100 gift card, and said, “have yourself an MKZ Date Night“. Well you didn’t need to tell us twice. We lived it up and treated ourselves to the finer things in life. I must tell you, there is no better way to drive around Dallas than this luxurious MKZ. Being a mother of 5 children, I’m used to driving around my mini van, aka: swagger wagon. Friends, the classy level is a bit lacking there. In fact the most luxurious item in my mini van would have to be the $5 Starbucks I insist on buying to survive the car ride with 5 screaming children, ha! But the MKZ is oozing with luxury.
It was so nice to drive around town and watch heads turn. Sitting in this Lincoln, on those premium leather seats, I was no longer a mother; no, for all they knew I was a CEO, thriving socialite, or even a movie star. One thing was for sure though, the passing cars envied me and this well crafted automobile. For once I was okay with people checking out my tail…and that felt nice, ha!
Not only is the exterior of the Lincoln MKZ stunning, but the interior is just as amazing. These features are innovative and extremely impressive:
* Interior Track lighting – All cars have this, but with the MKZ it’s a whole different story. They have taken even the simplest of features and add a bit of sparkle. There is no doubt when you open your car door at night that you are driving a Lincoln. * Push Button Shift – Gone are the days of using a gear shift. This design feature is not only easy, but adds such appeal to the console, by cutting out the bulky shifter.
* Dual Zone Electronic Climate Control – Allows both the passenger and the driver to determine the temperature of their side. Sam and I really enjoyed this feature, because he doesn’t care for the fan blowing on him in the car, but I NEED it or I feel stuffy. So we both were able to adjust the setting to find our perfect temp. It was glorious! (And did you know that you can also save your settings?! So when you start your car, it will automatically adjust to what you like!)
* Heated/ air conditioned leather seats – Now this was down right amazing. In the Texas heat I would NEVER think about having leather seats in my car. Nobody wants to experience the sticky sweaty mess that comes along with it, so why bother?! But with the air conditioned seats I couldn’t tell it was even summer outside, ha! My tail was nice and cool. I only wish I had the chance to drive this beauty in the winter so I could take advantage of the heated seats and did I mention the steering wheel is also heated?! * SYNC® with MyLincoln Touch™ – Voice-activated technology that helps you keep your eyes safely on the road and still connected to the world. Hands free calling when you sync your phone with Bluetooth®. Plus, 911 Assist® can utilize your connected mobile phone to help call 911 when you can’t.
* BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert – It was so nice to see the lighted dot on my side mirrors indicating a car in my blind spot while driving.
* Lane-Keeping System – keeping driver’s safety in mind this feature helps you out if you ever get a little distracted behind the wheel. It alerts you by shaking the wheel letting you know you are about to go out of your lane and if you don’t correct yourself, it will for you. So when you plan to switch lanes, you definitely want to use your blinker and you won’t have any trouble. * Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support – As you are driving along the highway with your cruise control on, and end up behind a slower vehicle, your MKZ will automatically adjust to the speed of the car in front of you. Isn’t that amazing?! The collision warning feature is down right awesome and alerts you with red lights up on your dashboard if you get close to hitting an object. (including those pesky curbs when parking!)
* Parallel park Assist – Where was this feature when I was taking my driving test?! It uses ultrasonic sensors to measure the open space where you’d like to park, to see if you’d fit. Then it does it for you by steering the vehicle smoothly into the parking space, while you stay in control of the accelerating, braking and shifting. Is that not impressive?!
* THX® II Certified Audio System – this is “Concert-hall audio quality and performance” with 14 strategically placed speakers including two 6″ X 9″ subwoofers. Now if that doesn’t say audio power, I don’t know what does. Driving around that kind of luxury on wheels was unbelievable. I even had two friends want a Lincoln MKZ of their own after seeing me with one. So when I tell you this car is impressive and stunning, I am not lying. But don’t take my word for it. Call your local Lincoln dealer and see if they have an MKZDateNight offer going on now. Dallas/Fort Worth friends, please check out Grapevine Lincoln (You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and even Instagram) and Sam De La Garza will treat you right!

Such a great car! And I agree… Grapevine Lincoln (and Sam) rock! The push button shift was something I had never seen before and was so innovative and cool. I am with you on that Parallel Park Assist, we had to try it over and over again. The MKZ definitely turns heads. Glad you were able to enjoy your time with it. 🙂
Lucky!! That is such a sleek looking car! Glad you had fun on your Date!!
Fun! Great picture from the car with the Dallas Skyline. From all the features you mention I would have had a hard time giving it back and returning to my crumb scattered mom-mobile! 🙂
That car has a lot of upgrades compared to most on the road. That’s one sharp looking car. A night out on the weekend with a great ride can’t be beat!!!
