Father’s Day is right around the corner and I have yet to really take a second to figure out how to honor my baby daddy. (And wife of the year award goes to me, ha!) In the effort of assuming I’m not alone, and many of you lovely ladies need suggestions for Father’s Day, I’ve compiled a list of the top ways to kick off your Father’s Day weekend. Let’s show our men how special they really are!
In our household, being a daddy is a job fit for only Superman. Seriously, no title is less fitting for a hard working man, helping raise 4 kids, and the designated bathroom cleaner. Â So just any Father’s Day weekend won’t do, it needs to be superhero worthy!
1. Give him a Superhero Survival Kit. Being a daddy is tough work, and it may require frequent refueling. So load that man up with a basket full of goodies that he so loves! Nothing like kryptonite, we want to keep him strong! My man’s basket wouldn’t be complete without; Dr. Pepper, chips, peanut m&ms, and Blue Bell ice cream. If I ever want to make him weak in the knees, I’ll bring home a half gallon of Blue Bell ice cream and he is putty in my hands! (So make sure to fill your basket with things that will make his heart skip a beat!)
2. Keep his Superhero mind sharp! Included in his Superhero Survival Kit will be a gift card to his favorite bookstore. My man LOVES to read, but even more than that is the fun of actually going to said bookstore, looking through all the books, smelling the pages turn, and drinking his favorite coffee. So along with his gift card, I’ll send him off on a solo trip to the store. Just my man and his books.
3. Superheroes train hard. My man especially likes to try and keep his body fit. (I mean you saw what he needs in his survival kit, so no wonder he needs to work out, ha!) His exercise of choice is running, and training for races. We have all the equipment; heart rate monitors, watches, iPods, shoes, and clothes. But recently I noticed Sam’s shoes had seen better days. They really needed to be retired. Since I know how superheroes like to train, we might head off to the local running store so he can find a new pair of shoes. This of course will be accompanied by at least 30 minutes of scoping out all the new latest and greatest running gadets. But it’s okay, our Superman needs to be faster than the speed of a bullet. đ

4. Treat your superhero. Dinner is a must when celebrating this man we call daddy. And my man has a sweet spot for Italian food. Spaghetti, Lasagna, Alfredo, you name it, he loves it. This means a trip to his favorite place with Tiramisu to top off the meal. He will be stuffed with carb goodness, But what fun is ending the night with dinner?!
5. Take your superhero to the movies! Since we like to call Sam Superman, how could we not take him to see the new movie Man of Steel?!

The trailer for the movie looks AMAZING!
