My Little Twinkle Toes

This past weekend my little ballerina performed in her end of year dance recital. Honestly in the weeks leading up to the actual recital I really thought she would get on stage and freeze up, especially since her teacher wouldn’t be standing right in front of her directing every move. But at the dress rehearsal, that girl proved me wrong! She is SUCH a ham…and LOVES to dance. All the moms and I were cracking up at home much she was getting into her tap routine, like home girl was ON IT! This made me hopeful that she would not just freeze on stage, but she is a diva so you just never know. ha!

Of course on the day of her recital I put her hair up in the cute sock bun I demonstrated earlier. And the one thing Paisley was concerned about was her need for lipstick. Priorities, right?! So we made sure those babies were painted well, snapped a few quick pics, then off my little girl went to take the stage.

We totally illegally filmed her performance, because we are cheap (ha!) and it seemed a little more wrong to pay $50 for a video. Ouch. Bad examples I know, but if we hadn’t recorded her you would not be able to see how my little twinkle toes did…and that would be just wrong now wouldn’t it?!

I will say that her tap performance isn’t as fun as it was during rehearsal. I think the girls were just done for the day because they had to wait and do that routine in the second half of the THREE HOUR show. I’d be tired too if I were 3 years old. Anyway, she is still so precious and when you watch the video, she’s the girl in the back.

And after all was said and done we HAD to get she some flowers! Gma surprised her with some and so did daddy. I am pretty sure this was Paisley’s favorite part, because we asked her if shed want to take dance next year and she replied, “Yes, when I get more flowers.” What have we started?!

I will tell you I bawled like a baby, and if I were to tell you it was pregnancy hormones that would be a lie. It was so sweet and special seeing my little girl on stage dancing…even my sisters and mom were crying. And I know they aren’t pregnant.  But we all sure missed Gpops, but he’ll be back from the Philippines this week! He would have been so proud of his “baby doll“. 😉
