Last week I took a trip to one of my favorite places, BJ’s Restaurants. I was introduced to their awesomeness a couple of years ago while at a friend’s rehearsal dinner, and ever since then I have been addicted. So much so, that when I heard about their Party For Two! deal going on right now, Sam and I HAD to take advantage of it.
But because we are such good friends we invited another couple along to enjoy the yumminess! Not only is the food good, but we were able to kick back, relax and have a great time. And a GREAT time we had! As a matter of fact there are few restaurants where we can go as a family and still want to go on as a date. And this is one of them, we don’t have to worry about the kids disrupting anyone, but when we ditch the kids for a date, it’s still one of our top outing choices!
First we had to start off with our soups and salads. Probably the coolest thing I have ever seen was Sam’s Chicken Tortilla soup. They brought out his bowl with the toppings and garnishes, to which Sam started laughing because he thought that was all he was getting. But fret not, he wasn’t pick through avocados and tortilla strips while I devoured my salad. Nope, the next waiter quickly came over with an pitcher and added the soup to the bowl. I have never seen anything like that before, and boy did his soup taste amazing. Next time we go there I’m getting my own…no begging for bites of his again.
If you have ever eaten at BJ’s Restaurants before you might have enjoyed their pastas, salads, or other delicious items, but do yourself a favor next time and indulge in a deep dish pizza. I’ve got to say, when we had there I have a one track mind…and it only revolves around the signature deep dish pizzas. Not only are they HUGE, but the combinations are to die for. Sam and I cannot agree on which signature dish is the best, but my vote is and always will be for the Mediterranean pizza. The feta, tomatoes, and banana peppers, oh my! Trust me, once you try it, you will never try anything else again. No lie. Even our friends Carrie and Phillip agreed to it’s splendor.
The best part of our evening and any trip to BJ’s Restaurants for that matter, was the pizookie. But on our double date Sam and I had the honor of de-virginizing our friends with their first ever pizookie. Somehow in all of their visits to BJ’s Restaurants they had never even tried one. I almost fell out of my chair when I heard this. I’m telling you this, this right here needed to be documented. As Carrie and Phillip tasted their first bite of their pizookie, I could hear the angels break out singing the Hallelujah chorus.
There is NO exaggerating the warm, gooey greatness that is pizookie wonder. Unlike with the pizzas, I have no favorite. Seriously, I could eat any and ALL OF THEM. Sam practically had to fight me off with his spoon so he could get a bite or two in. He lucked out that I needed to take a breath for a second, otherwise that pizookie would have been inhaled in record timing.
If you’re like me, and just looking at this post makes your mouth water, then you need to get yourself to your nearest BJ’s Restaurants STAT. Carrie and Phillip are you two up for another round??? The best part about this trip was the Part For Two deal I was telling you about.

It looks like you had so much fun! Double dates are the best ESPECIALLY when you get to see your friends have a Pizookie for the first time. And YES, I am drooling from your pics!

Your husband si such a goof! Love it 🙂
He IS, I guess that’s why he married me, ha!
So, wanna hang out at a BJ’s the next time I’m in your area???

I dream of their fried artichoke bites!! and their chili is to Die for!
Yum, i need to go now.
I need to try those!!!
We started making Pizookie way back in college. I never knew for sure if it was a real thing! Ours is basically half cooked cookie dough with ice cream. Is that what the BJ’s version is like too?
That is pretty much it! And oh-so yummy!
