Well crazy enough, here I am just gliding into my third trimester! Boy is this all going too fast. Soon I’ll need to start thinking about actually preparing for Pippa’s arrival, but for now I think I’ll sticking with the whole denial phase. What baby? ha!
It could be the reason this pregnancy is flying by, is because we seem to be incredibly busy. Just yesterday after dropping Ethan off at school, I had to take the other three kids to Wal-Mart and then home to work on a blog project. That fun project swallowed up the rest of my time until I swept the kids up and off we went for the girls’ well child check up. After waiting 2 hours we finally saw our pediatrician, the kids were “special” because they hadn’t even had a nap today, and then the pediatrician threw me a curve ball. He complimented me on my parenting. What? Really? He definitely doesn’t see me at home then, ha! While we waited for the nurse to come back in our room with the shots, I could see the light at the end of our long day tunnel. That is until Titus decided to get hurt. You see our pediatrician uses an exercise ball instead of a stool in the room, and Titus was rolling around on it. yes, I told him any times before this moment to not play with the ball. But here we are, he was sprawled out on the ball when it rolled away (of course, it’s a ball!) flinging him into the corner of the cabinet. I knew he was going to be hurt. The screaming started before he could even stand up, and his hand tightly clinched his ear. Hoping for the best, I figured he just bruised it, until I pulled his hand away and blood dripped everywhere. Ugh, this was not happening! That will teach the pediatrician to not compliment me, ha! Once I got the bleeding under control, I called the nurse back in, then she called our pediatrician back in, and he gave the news. We needed to head to the ER to get it fixed, we were beyond his repair. Good night! Who goes to the pediatrician’s office and leaves worse than they came in?! Apparently we do. So while he cried in pain, I had to focus on the other two girls who still needed shots…yeah remember, that’s why I was there. They of course were less than pleased and I left with 3 screaming children. Life is good.
After getting Sam, Ethan, and the girls dropped off at home, Titus and I fought traffic all the way to the ER. It was a good time. Honestly, the Lord must have given me an extra dose of patience and strength yesterday, because I am completely surprised I wasn’t a hot crying mess. So not typical for me, ha! This is how Titus was at the hospital…a complete ham. Hurt ear what?!
I mean the kid was hilarious! Workin’ the nurses to get stickers, not only for himself but for his brother and sisters too. Playing games, making us all laugh, and really making me question how hurt he was. But sure enough, once we cleaned his wound stitches were imminent. They had a child care specialist come in with an iPad and let Titus watch a movie while he got his stitches. The kid did awesome, except for the screaming fit with the numbing shot in his ear at the beginning. But really, who wouldn’t cry at that?!
Once he was all done, he received a popsicle for his bravery. We waited another hour to get our release papers to head home. Titus was SO over the hospital by this point, so we FaceTimed with Ethan and daddy!
Like any 4 year old, he needed to burn off some energy, so I let him walk around the room and “play” a little. But the moment he tripped almost hitting his head, back to the bed he went. All we needed was for him to get hurt in the ER. Lord help us. He was so tired and so mad at me for making him sit. To prove how mad he was, he turned his back and would “humph” any time I started to talk. All I could do was laugh, I mean we had a LONG day, ha!
Everyone who heard of his story thought it was classic. I mean who gets hurt AT the doctor’s office?! Good times kid, good times. Finally, 3 hours later we headed home.
Y’all, we are really going to need some prayer so this kid can survive childhood. I thought we’d need to worry about Ethan, but Titus is giving him a run for his money!

Goodness you had quite a day! Praying everyone is feeling better today. And, Girl, you are a great mom… kids will be kids, right. 🙂
Thanks….I could go for a lazy day today! ha!
Raiden kind of did the same thing. He tripped over my feet and went flying into the corner of the foot rest on the table. Cut his forehead and had a huge goose egg. Didn’t need stitches tho.
Boys…I think their goal is to give us a heart attack!
That’s quite a tale! I’m glad you can laugh about how ridiculous it is!
All I can do is laugh, ha!
That kid. The last picture kills me!!! He for sure is going to give you a run for your money!!
hehehe soo funny.. sounds like a tv episode.. i felt like i was there…i also use one of those balls at my computer desk so ill be sure to keep naia off of it.. glad to see everything worked out and by the end of the night all the kiddos were happy and well taken care of!.. p.s. what did you do for dinner.. how did you have time to cook? Im always curious when people fit dinner in and what they prepare on especially hectic days!
