This Wednesday I am SO excited to vacation at the theater and watch One Life. This movie opens February 21, 2013 in over 450 theaters across the nation for a limited engagement. I have got to tell you that it is just utterly crazy to me how the filmmakers could get all of this raw footage of nature. We get to see animals in their natural habitat, experiencing life as they know it. Fascinating. One Life, the movie, was more than 4 years in the making, filmed over 3,000 days across every continent and in every habitat. It includes 15 “filming firsts” including the first complete sequence (including aerials, underwater and topside shots) of humpback whale mating contest, “the heat run,” 3 cheetahs hunting co-operatively (they generally hunt independently), and the first use of new camera tracking system “yogi cam” to track elephants. Another huge point is that Daniel Craig narrated, and this was the first time the actor has lent his voice to a documentary feature. Just check out this video:
I mean seriously, don’t you want to go now?! It’s going to be like the zoo on steroids, and I am PUMPED! How can you not be impressed by all that God has created? I mean our world is just breathtaking and simply amazing. I don’t know about your kids but mine love animals, and we spend many hours in our house pretending to be them (building nests, chasing each other around, practicing our roars!). This movie will give us glimpses of lands we may never see, animals we may not have known existed, and life lived all around us. It’s so great to take the time, check out from the craziness I see daily and experience another’s struggles, triumphs…existences.
Go now to the One Life site and find the nearest theater that has a showing! Take your family, your kids, what better education for them! You will not regret it; what wonder and beauty we get to see!
It’s all our world!
How crazy is that?!
