This week has pretty much flown by, and yet at the same rate it seems to only be creeping at a snail’s pace. As I sit here on Thursday wondering where my week has gone, all I can think of is that my days have been spent watching clingy, crying, sick kids. This makes my days seem endless as snot, vomit, and tears are flown everywhere. Who knew bugger was the “it” accessory for spring?! I didn’t!
And because my children are glued to my lap as they hack up their lungs, I have yet to post this week. Please forgive me. 😉
Somehow in all of this craziness Sam found out about a last minute mission trip to go on which will help him graduate in May. Hallelujah! But with all the sickness and the fact the trip was last minute for us, we have about $800 left to raise. Oh, did I tell you that he is supposed to leave next Thursday. Yeah, craziness! Here is my main man with a little plea:

Hello everyone this is Sam, Brittany’s husband. Man isn’t that an old adage, being known by your spouse? Makes me remember the days back when all wives were known for their husbands name, ie. Mrs. Sam Estes. So with that said you can call me Mr. Brittany Estes. But I digress. I am in need of some serious help! I am going on a mission trip to Haiti in a week and am running short on funds. So because I know that Brittany has so many friends that she reaches out to on this blog from time to time I asked if she would mind if I could guest post and ask for support.
I will be traveling to Creve, the northwest part of Haiti to a little city of 2-3 thousand. There my team and I will be leading sport camps during the day for school aged children and in the afternoon/ night lead devotionals with the leaders in the local church. This city was once predominately Christian, but since the 2010 earthquake many have fallen away causing it to be nearly half Voodoo and half Christian. Why that part of Haiti? We chose this area is because a classmate of mine came from there and has seen the drastic changes first hand. Since summer he has begged the school to lead a team down with him to gain back those who have fallen away, and to get the next generation on the right step.
To raise money I have designed a simple shirt to sell. I was able to have these printed at cost and the rest of the proceeds (which is about half) will go directly towards the trip! The shirts will be a minimum $15 donation, that means if you want to give more please do!
The “H” in Haiti is actually an outline of the country! How cool is that?! Also, this picture doesn’t show it, but under the “Haiti” logo will be “making Him known”. Because that’s what we’re called to do. Just so happens right now God is sending me to Haiti.
I am excited to see what this community can do! I leave a week from tomorrow and need to raise this money quickly so that we can get it to my school in time. This is a hail Mary pass, but I think you all are up for a goal! To those who do donate thank you, and to those who can’t I would love to simply have you pray for the trip and the people of Haiti who are in a constant struggle to survive and for that I would thank you too.
**Please email Brittany at naturallyestes@hotmail.com to see how you can donate to the Haiti mission trip and/or order a shirt! Shirts will be ordered March 7th and ship a week later**
