Well yes, another week has passed and guess what? I’m still pregnant. It wasn’t all a dream and this is really happening. Ha! Besides having a crazy week (like usual) my belly decided to catch up with how far along it should be and just popped right out. Hello 5th baby belly…it’s so good to see you. One huge thing I am struggling with this pregnancy, other than the general shock of actually being pregnant, is the weight gain. I don’t know why this is such a huge deal to me, but I worked really hard to lose all the weight I had put on over the years and poof, now it’s going to jump right back on. I wasn’t even done losing weight yet, and I am still considered overweight by health standards. My biggest struggle during my weight loss journey was dealing with cravings. I love food, like seriously, we are best buds. Why eat if you’re not going to enjoy it. Amen!? That is probably why I didn’t lose the weight as fast as I could have, but when you add pregnancy on top of things, those craving are SO hard not to succumb to. I mean, this little tiny baby takes over my body like an evil gremlin when I’m hungry. Everything goes into my mouth, just to shake the hunger.

And before I know it I’m stuffed and suffering for it. So I am really needing to work on eating healthy, exercising, and fighting the hunger urge! How did you do it while pregnant?!
When I went to my midwife yesterday, I measured 24wks. So I am kind of large for how far along I am. She doesn’t know if I am further than what we thought, but we will find out when I have my official sonogram next week. It would be my luck for the baby to actually be 24 weeks, because this pregnancy is bound and determined to fly by, ha! Oh, and we have FINALLY agreed on a name. After much debate over the “should her name start with a “P”, or not”, we realized that we could only agree on a “P” name. So I am happy to share baby #5’s name with you!
I actually liked the name Pippa when I was pregnant with Penelope, but Sam was SO not a fan. Something happened this time around and he likes it! As for Shantel, that’s my middle name. I just think her name is so cute and spunky, but the masses we’ve told have had mixed emotions. Oh well, she’s our baby. 😉
And here’s what happens when you try and let the kids reveal the baby’s name. It was a hot mess!
So what is your best tips to stay healthy and eat well while pregnant?
Also, what was your favorite pregnancy food??

Beautiful! She will fit right in. 🙂 And Shantel? My middle name is Chantel! How fun.
I’m looking forward to seeing how some people fought off pregnancy cravings because I’m having no luck. I read a book when I was pregnant with C that said smokers crave cigarettes and alcoholics crave drinks, so just because it’s a craving, you shouldn’t give in. That did not sink in for me.
That is SO cool your middle name is Chantel!!!
YAY!!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her name!! I’m so glad that you are naming her after you. That is so great. I truly admire you for being the baby making machine you are. 🙂
Love her name. My best advice is to be kinder to yourself. You look fabulous. This is your 5th pregnancy. I’m nearing the end of my 4th. Embrace your baby body. Eat for your baby. When I changed my mindset to eating more for baby and less for my cravings (not that I didn’t still do this moderately) I chose better options. I remained active-chasing my toddler and running our teens to all their events and did yoga. Good luck!!
Congrats on picking the name! Maybe it has to do with Pippa Middleton that he came around on the name? Seeing it written in public?
Don’t have much advice for cravings, but if you are feeling stuffed and uncomfy, slow it down. It takes time for your stomach to tell your brain it’s full. And put way less on your plate, we tend to eat what’s in front of us, and it’s easy to add a bit more later! I usually just ended up eating more frequently with my boys because the full ick feeling happens fast with me.
I like what Kate said about eating FOR Pippa rather than eating for your craving. Makes sense.
Love her name! So cute! I mean seriously cute!
So fun!
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the name Pippa! We have a P last name so it would never work for us but I LOVE it! I think Pippa and Piper are probably the most fun names on the planet.
So glad you told the name because when I finally get to your surprise I can completely finish it. Yea.
So cute! Love it!! 🙂 I can. Not. Wait. To call you and Tiff Shauntel/Chantel next time I see you both!! Ha! That’s awesome! 🙂 I think you look great btw. Seriously. I usually stuck with small portions, but lots of them, throughout the day(and night!) 😉 But at this point you out rank me on experience!!
Super cute name, Brittany!! 😀
Aww! Cute! What a fun spunky name for #5!
such a darling name! and you look gorgeous chica. 🙂 rock those red lips.
um. Im probably the WORST person to consult about eating when pregnant…but i say, you have enough on your plate, your hands are full, the least you can do is NOT STRESS over food. For serious. Eat when you’re hungry, don’t feel guilty about it. You will get your weight back down after you have your little p. So unless the doctor starts telling you that you’re obese, anytime they say you’re “overweight” carry a picture of Honey Boo Boo’s momma and say, yeah, well here.
I think you look great.
