I hate shopping.
Well I mean I like it, but I like to get in, find the magical item I can’t live without and then get my tail out of there. I’m what you would call a shopping sprinter, but there are people I know who are classified as marathon shoppers. These people could spend an entire day in one store, only taking quick breaks to hydrate, eat, and relieve themselves…if you know what I mean, ha! To these people the act of finding that perfect purchasable item can be thwarted if they see something thing else they like; then they HAVE to go try on said item. But once that happens you realize this top might look better with a certain belt, and so on and so forth. Have you ever heard of the book, “If You Give A Mouse a Cookie”? Yeah, it’s just like that. But no matter the kind of shopper you are I have a few tips for you to survive this holiday season.
1. Make a Budget – This is something Sam and I have to be VERY strategic about. We have 7 people in our family not including other relatives and friends to shop for. And since I have YET to find a tree growing money, we are are on a tight budget. In an effort to keeps things pretty equal and stretch our dollar as much as possible, we allot amounts for each person. Then we go through and make lists of things we think that person would like as well as items they have mentioned wanting. It’s important to know the prices for these items as well, that way you don’t just blow your whole budget on one item…unless you want to of course!
2. Shop Early (and not all at once) – Remember when I said I am SO not a shopper, or rather a sprinter shopping kind of gal. Yeah that means I don’t want to shop for all my peoples in one day. That would be like the 9th circle of hell for me, ha! PLUS on top of that, the massive traffic and crowds out shopping as the holiday approaches really sets me in a panic. So try to shop early. For one you miss all of that craziness I just touched on AND your chances of that one NEW, KILLER item being sold out is slim. Really it’s win, win for everyone!
3. Use Luvocracy – Let me just say that Luvocracy is a dream come true for shoppers like me. It not only allows me to shop from the comfort of my own home (so the only crowd I’m fighting is my 5 kids, ha!), but it all can be done in one spot! Luvocracy has shopping assistants that will scour the web to find the lowest price for each product, PLUS they have a 30 day return policy!
I love that I can make collections of items I might want to purchase during the day and then Sam and I can look over them, decide, and purchase them right there on our computer. But you don’t have to be stuck behind a computer screen because Luvocracy also has a FREE app for iPhones and Androids that you can use from anywhere! Just head over here to download it: http://bit.ly/LuvocracyApp?? . And all new member who sign up will receive a $10.00 credit, which will automatically be credited to their Luvocracy account. FREE MONEY! Now that’s what I’m talking about!
Easy Shopping For Me:
Y’all I’m not just blowing smoke when I say that I love Luvocracy. The idea of purchasing my items quickly, never leaving my house, and then having them delivered to my door is heaven to me. With our busy schedules and 5 kids, finding time or desire to shop doesn’t happen that often. So Luvocracy easily works for me. During nap time I’ll jump on the app, add gift items to the collections, and wait for Sam to come home to purchase. I can even allow him to add items to the collections I’ve started in my profile…IF that man ever takes the time to shop, ha! Men. Here, take a look at a collection I’m working on for Stocking Stuffers. We generally try to get a few things as stuffers, so I want the items to be less than $20, and in this collection I can look to see what kind of variety I have for each person.
Clearly I still need to add a few things before Christmas, ha! But I’m not stressing because I can do it all through Luvocracy!

I wish I was done with my holiday shopping! Although my 5 are older than yours, they make it challenging b/c they are sneaky and want to see everything. 😉 This looks like a great way to shop without them knowing.
Oh man do the holidays stress me out!! 5 kids to shop for makes me want to hyperventilate. I love this way of shopping. I could use all of the help I can get. 🙂
I’m almost done with my shopping, but I’ll have to check out Luvocracy to see if I can get the rest of it knocked out. Thanks for sharing.
ALWAYS shop with a list for everything you need!
