Last week I posted about wanting to change my nail color, and add some fun nail art while I was at it! But the coolest part about the how manicure thing is to see the kids get SO excited when they gaze upon my new designs. My hands get pulled in all sorts of directions as they touch, caress, and gawk at all the designs. This my friends makes me the coolest mom around. At first I thought it was just fun for me; you know as your going about your day in your usual routine, then all of the sudden you look down and BAM the sight of your nails make you grin. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving. But when I saw the kids got such a kick out of it too, how could I stop?!!? And would you guys like to see all the crazy designs I sport?!
So when I was at Walgreens this past week, picking up a prescription, I was shocked at all the new fun Sally Hansen products there. I used my Balance Rewards card at Walgreens because the Sally Hansen Extreme Wear polish and Salon Effects was just 2/$5 with 1,000 points and they’re from the Block Art collection! Not to mention there are many other items to save on with your Balance Rewards, and I like me some deals! That’s when I had an idea. With Memorial Day and Fourth of July coming up, I thought I’d start my nail art career (ha!) with a patriotic color blocking rendition. Color blocking is a big trend right now. Stars and stripes are PERFECT! Hello American flag!
And here’s what I came up with:
Are these nails not fun?! Now how about I show you how to recreate them?! They are surprising pretty easy, so take a deep breath and let’s get to it!
I used the red, white, and blue Extreme Wear nail polish with the nail art pens in red and white. The pens are a God send because they make drawing designs on your nails SO much easier! I think I need to go back and get every color they have…like now. On to the fun part, the tutorial!
Okay before you start your nails remember perfection isn’t everything! Also, a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover will do wonders to clean/touch up your nails once you’re done. Now wasn’t that a lot of fun?! With these new nails, I’ll need a snappy new outfit to match. Would this one not look perfect?!
