Tragedy has struck our home.
Yes, in the form of a death.
Frankly I still choke up just thinking about it.
Yesterday, I sent my son to school looking like this:
When he was picked up from school he looked like this:
The kid cut his own hair!
He said that while he was in class, using scissors, his hair was annoying him. So when the teacher wasn’t looking he ducked under the table and cut about an inch across the top. (the picture is hard to tell) Then right as he tried to get back up to his seat his teacher caught him.
He said, “man, she’s a sneaky teacher.”ย
Does this teacher not know that she is on thin ice?! ha! I barely let the kid go to school. Now he cuts his own hair on ย your watch. Thems fightin’ words miss!
I am devastated!
After freaking out I agreed that Sam should go take him to get his hair cut. Nervous about the whole thing, because people can REALLY botch a cool, shaggy look on boys. It’s amazing really how bad people can be. So Sam took this picture in as an example for Ethan’s new do. If I’m honest, he needed a trim anyways…THAT was what I was prepared for!
This is an approved by mommy cut! haha!
And also from like when he was three…how cute, right?!
What we ended up with was this:
That is about when I LOST IT!
It was flat out HORRIBLE!
Just to keep it real here, I almost packed up all three other kids and took a trip to the hair stylist to punch him in the face. A little dramatic, yes…warranted…yes! ha!
After hearing my fuming rants, and agreeing on the level of hair devastation, Sam took Ethan back to the stylist for another do.ย This time he had to go short. I can barely type that out. I mean this kid has GORGEOUS long locks, I mean locks that women would KILL for! He refers to his hair as his “Samson” hair, and really freaks when stylists try to cut too much!ย
Why, oh why did he cut his own hair?!
He hasn’t had hair this short since birth….I kid you not!
While I am still in a state of mourning for such a loss as this, I can’t help but to think how much Ethan’s story was like Samson’s. ha! Except Delilah in this case was the taunting scissors…that he used on his OWN hair. Let’s just pray for a different ending, amen?!
So if you see me in person…please feel free to mourn our loss as well.

Why the hair man, why the hair???!!!?? Oh man!! He looks totally different with short hair!! I’m in shock.
I would totally DIE if this happened to my shaggy-haired-toddler!
I will never forget the time when my oldest cut her own bangs and we had to cut them like up to her receding hair line. OMG it was horrible. She looked like Janeane Garafalo from Reality Bites. HORRRRRRRIBLE!!!
OH MAN. Totally tragic. I’m hoping my kids NEVER learn what scissors are!
THAT IS HORRRRRIBBBBLLLLEEEE! I would cry, but I did get in a good laugh. We have a little boy with shaggy blonde hair (curly and crazy) and I just made my husband read this post and said…”DAVEN IS NEVER GETTING A HAIR CUT!” I would freak out! Bless y’all. ๐
I’m so sad! I raise my pumpkin spice latte in rememberence to that beautiful head of hair he had!!! ๐
Did you have to pay for any of that??? I wouldnt have ! No ma’am
I am so sorry for your loss momma. The bright side? It’ll grow back. Right? ๐
Oh man, his hair was beautiful!! So, I’m in mourning with you. But the bright side is that it’ll grow back and you’ll find a new stylist. ๐
Awww ๐ It will grow back!
