Or at least my last week of life has been.
Things have really picked up for me in my business, it’s what I like to call determination…and the desire to have money for groceries, haha! Not only are things good on that front, but my family life hasn’t slowed down…never does. That’s what happens when you have three kids!
Where to start?
Monday:
We spent the day with my parents and Paisley had a memorable day herself.
She went from this:
to this:
And then to this!
Mommy was a nervous wreck, but both Paisley and I have made it through and her cuteness is off the charts with those precious earrings!
Daddy hung out with the boys a little…
More like he played games on his iPhone and the boys climbed all over him. Boys! (yes Sam, you are included in that, haha!)
Tuesday:
This was the boys’ first day of preschool. Ethan was SO excited, Titus had no idea what was coming, and I was a little sad. It would just be Sweet P and I for the whole day…I was going to miss them!
Thursday:
While the boys were at school Sam and I took Paisley to the Cardiologist.
You may be wondering why we took her there…kinda seems random, I know.
But this is something that Sam and I decided to keep “close to the vest”. I don’t know why, but when it comes to my kids, I can’t stand the thought of something being wrong with them. I know keeping it a secret is not the best theory, but it’s it’s the one I felt most comfortable with. That way I didn’t have to get questions, sympathy looks, and so on…which are all good, but in my mind, if nobody knew about it then the “problem” didn’t exist.
Stupid I know.
So let me take you back about 6 months when Paisley was born.
A pediatrician (not ours, but an on call ped) came into our hospital room and listened to Paisley’s heart. He said that he thought he heard a heart murmor so he wanted her to have an echo sonogram. She did that day, and they confirmed that she did indeed have a hole in her heart.
That is not news that new parents want to hear…we were then referred to a Cardiologist.
A week after she was born I took her to the Cardiologist so they could run some tests on her. Since we did keep this close to the vest, neither of our parents knew at the time because we wanted to tell them when we had answers ourselves. Not a good idea. I just had a baby so I was hormonal, they had to strap Paisley down to do the sono…which lasted forever, she was crying, the lady wouldn’t tell me what was going on, and I was crying myself.
I had a huge fear that I might loose my daughter.
After a rough couple of hours I found out that Paisley had 2 Muscular VSDs (two holes in her heart). Our Cardiologist said that he thought she would be just fine, but he wanted to see her back in 6 months. He also said that even if the holes didn’t close they would get smaller, or a least look smaller compared to the fact that her heart would grow (and the holes wouldn’t).
This brings us to now.
I didn’t want to go back to the Cardiologist by myself again…it was hard enough on me last time and now that Paisley was more active I figured it might prove to be a more challenging visit. My luck, Sam wanted to come anyway…what a good man!

Oh My!!! I love reading your blogs!!! Hope the fat lip culprit is under control.
PTL for Paisley’s good report!!!
Also, any chance you could be having an allergic reaction to your make-up? My mom all of a sudden developed an allergy to eye shadow that contained any form of the color pink (including most taupe-y colors). It happened to her after wearing the same make-up for years. Just another thought. She now wears only mineral make-up and it seems to do the trick for her.
Praise God for a good report on your daughter!
ok there is SO much good information on here that I would love to talk about, but first…DID YOU GET MY MESSAGE ON FACEBOOK?! About hair and my surgery?! I am sooo sorry. I still SOMEHOW don’t have your number! check your fbook and see!
I’m so glad Paisley is better. PTL. Ethan and Zoë are to much alike, she didn’t care when I left either.
