Silence.
It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing.
As I sit here peacefully at the end of the night with my three lovely children “counting sheep”, it’s almost easy to forget our day, our struggles, our craziness. But like the scent of a stinky diaper lingers so does the events of today.
I’ll be honest with you here for a second. I’m sure you already know this but I have a slight addiction/obsession with coffee. Every morning I head straight to the coffee pot and get my blessed brew going.
Today was no different.
Except that I made the pot of coffee and realized that we were out of creamer…and milk…and whip cream (I’ve used that before in moments of desperation, haha!) Oh No! This was a level 5 crisis going on here. If you are thinking, oh it’s not a big deal, just go without coffee. Well you must not know me at all. Just go ahead and shut off your computer and walk away because we cannot be friends. Haha!
So what was I going to do about this slight issue? I looked in my cabinets and discovered that we had hot chocolate packets…maybe, just maybe I could use that. Genius! Yes Brittany you are flat out brilliant. But before I could try it out my mom heard my S O S cry and sent my sister over with a Starbucks! Man does she love me!
When that goodness was gulped down I made our plans for the day. We were going to hang out at my parents, swim, and just chill. We all needed the rest and I was hope for a lack of excitement.
Off we headed to the promise land. I felt like we were going to the spa.
Yes Mrs. Estes, your reservation includes:
* meals
* child care (thanks Steph!)
* great company (it’s been kinda lonely without Sam here)
Doesn’t that sound lavish?!
Thankfully the day was so low key and relaxing that I decided to check into the “parent” hotel for the night! Go ahead be jealous. I would be if I were you. 😉
As an added bonus I get to have some father – daughter bonding time.
What might we be bonding over?
The Ultimate Fighter Challenge. Yes sweaty men beating the tar out of each other until they are bloody is what we call quality time.
I think this week is looking up!
(As long as I’m not one of the UFC fighters, haha!)

I totally know and have done what you did with the coffee.
information to keep at the back of your mind…..hot chocolage in coffee is yum. just sayin. i do it on purpose….when i DO have creamer on hand….mmmmm
