On Saturday Sam and I went to the gym to work out as our date.
So romantic, I know.
But we rather enjoyed it. During the week we go separately so the kids don’t have to go to the daycare they provide…I’m kind of a germ-a-phob. So this was a nice change for us! One I think we will repeat every week!
Anyway after our work out we decided to get ourselves a little treat. I automatically thought Starbucks, but thought that would be counter productive to the work out I had just completed.
Which led us to this place:
(all of these are iphone pics because I forgot my camera)
What a great healthy treat we were going to have.
But once we looked at the menu we saw an interesting item…
Wheatgrass Shot.
What in the world?!?!
We had to try it. It was healthy right?
I thought they would just grab a pitcher of the juice out of the fridge and pour us a shot. Oohh no, the gentleman looked at the cute decorative (or so I thought it was decoration) patch of sod and began cutting it!
Holy cow, what have we gotten ourselves into?
He then stuck it in this press/juicer where it squeezed all the juice out of this patch of grass and it pushed out the rest of the stringy, lifeless blades.
Oh man were we nervous.
At least you get it on a cute grass plate!
And they gave you a slice of orange to chase it with.
What? I need a chaser…this must be bad!
Here’s Sam shot!

Then it was my turn!

I have such a poker face, haha!
Let me just save you the money and tell you what it tastes like.
First, you get a bitter, sour taste.
Next, comes an awkward sweet taste (why sweet? I have no idea!).
Last, comes the “smell of fresh cut grass” taste.
And that my friends, is what you’re left with. I told Sam that I felt like I mowed the lawn and left my mouth open the whole time.
Nasty!
And to top it off sadly, I don’t even know what the wheatgrass was good for!
Do you, haha?
If anyone ever wants to try it with me around, shots will be on me, haha!

Hahaha, I am sitting in class and I laughed out loud at your pictures. Too Funny
I guess it’s good because it’s green. Surely, SURELY it has some magic superpower though right?!? Surely. Let’s just tell ourselves that it will cure all ailments forever. 😉
hahaha! hey, it was a good experience!
