…Flowers.
I LOVE flowers.
I LOVE getting flowers. (though I never seem to get any because my husband claims that I told him not to waste the money. Nice try honey, waste away! haha!)
I digress.
But I have one flower that I just cannot stand.
It seriously reminds me of a funeral. Could be because the first funeral I ever remembered was my grandma’s and she had a huge arrangement of these on her casket.
Traumatizing.
What is this flower?
A carnation.
Plain and simple.
I was reminded of my fear/distain for this bloom on Mother’s Day. Our church gave each mom a carnation with a little bag of chocolates attached. Nice gesture, but I about freaked!
Thanks for wishing me dead on Mother appreciation day. haha!
That’s like celebrating someone’s weight loss with a pizza and ice cream party.
I was not about to get one of those.
But it got me thinking what are some flower that other people don’t like or have problem with?
……………………..
To lighten the mood though, I will show you my favorite flowers!
I am not a simple, traditional gal so roses would never do for me.
Star Gazer Lilies on the other hand… B-e-a-utiful! I had these babies plastered tastefully placed all over my wedding.
It helps that they are pink too.
LOVE THEM!
My recent new favorite…tied for first really…is a peony. They are so elegant, classy, and pretty. Everything I wish to be…
Just hand me a bouquet of either…or both and I will be a happy camper.
Sam didn’t luck out though, because these babies are not cheap. (that’s the story of my life…taste always exceeds the wallet, haha!)
And for the record Sam, when I do pass away, I would prefer you not use carnations. We want my death to be a celebration…whether you’re happy I’m gone, or happy I’m in heaven…so let’s not ruin the mood with the blooms of gloom. haha!
So, what are your favorite flowers?
Least favorite?

i don’t know much about flowers. but i really like peonies too. my favorite though are hydrangeas and also good ole roses are quite romantic.
Yeah, sorry carnations…you’re not that great. Also daisies, i know everyone loves them but they’re too close to looking like a weed for me.
I agree on the carnations. Ick. I love tulips and dahlias!
