(yeah, I think he is starting to learn I’m a pushover. When he gets in trouble he say, “my nose hurts”)
Boys!
Gotta love ’em and gotta pay their hospital bills!
Haha!
Black and Blue, and Broken too
What’s missing here?
Could it possibly be this door?
Thursday as I was doing laundry the door came off the track. I grabbed the door as it fell and carried it into the kitchen where I placed it up against the wall. When Sam got home I figured he would fix it and it was no big deal. That night I had a meeting so Sam watched the boys.
And this is how the story goes:
Ethan and Titus were in the kitchen playing around when they accidentally hit the laundry room door. It began to fall so Ethan pushed Titus out of the way, and in return he got whacked with the door as it fell to the ground.
Saved his brother’s life….. CHECK!
Bruised shoulder……………CHECK!
Bloody, Broken Nose…….CHECK!
When I came home I was greeted with a little boy who looked like this:
And I freaked out!
Is it broken?
Did he cry?
Should we run to the ER?
Why didn’t you call me?
Sam explained what happened and I began to tear up at my baby’s bravery…then decided we should probably have him checked out. Sam called his dad (who happens to be a doctor) and he figured it was broken but there was nothing you could do for it but ice it. He also suggested we call our doctor, but since it was 10:00 at night we didn’t have many options other than ER. I took Ethan to my neighbors house (who happens to be a nurse) to have her give it a look. She confirmed it was broken and said ice it.
My poor baby!
So in honor of his battle scars, I have compiled a couple of pictures to show the progression:
Before:
After (Day 1):
These pictures were taken a couple of hours after.
(Sorry for the flash in the pictures…didn’t think to get better ones)
We gave him frozen peas to ice it down.
Just like every good fighter…too bad we didn’t have steak.
Day 2:
Today (Day 3):
That’s rough!
It’a almost like a car wreck or a man in a thong bikini; you know you shouldn’t keep looking but you can’t stop!
I have felt so bad disciplining when needed since he got hurt. I just look at him and feel so bad for the guy. He’s been through so much, right!

Oh my goodness! Poor kid! But how sweet is he for saving Titus?!?! Love that. And yeah, 3 days is enough for being a pushover. Gotta get your big girl panties back on. 🙂 Tell him we’re so proud of his bravery!
