Three random facts about life with boys and toddlers!
1. Why do stores only have half the amount of boy clothes as they do girl clothes…and then at that, there are even less cute boy clothes…
…good thing I got these! I mean aren’t they adorable…I cried at the store when I saw them…don’t laugh, I was pregnant, and I guess those hormones were all over the place.
Anyhow, I consider it a great success when I find something cute.
2. Tonight at the dinner table we were sitting as a family just enjoying ourselves and all of the sudden…
“BURRRPP!”
Then I look over at Ethan and he says,
“I burp!”
…and then he dies laughing!
Oh the joys of having sons…can you see why I need at least one girl?…for my sanity and womanhood, please!
3. Toddlers hear and repeat EVERYTHING!
I have my own built in accountability partner…because I like to listen to some music that really isn’t fit for little kids…I love a lot of secular songs and it’s my guilty pleasure. When I first had Ethan I said, ” I’ll stop listening to this music when he gets old enough to understand it.”
Well a couple of weeks ago Sam and I were in the car and we were listening to music…
one song in particular…”I kissed a girl”…sung by Katy Perry (such a bad song, but such a catchy tune) And in the back I hear, “I kissed a girl and I liked it..”…it was my little baby boy singing that song!…Oh my! So I decided that is was time to get some children’s bible songs and veggie tales.
…but on our way to the store the song, “It’s getting hot in here” by Nelly came on…and then he started singing…”It’s getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes”…this made us SPEED to the store!
How could I allow that…boy did I feel convicted. It took my 2 year old son to teach me that I had been listening to some music that was completely inappropriate. It makes me think of that little kid’s song:

But in my case it was more like:

1. Having a child has GREATLY curtailed my road rage. The first time I heard Eva imitate me calling someone an idiot, I knew I had to change. 🙂
2. Having a child also makes me watch what I eat. I can’t have treats in the middle of the day unless I’m willing to share. Built in willpower. 🙂
3. I still haven’t adjusted to life without sleep even after 2 1/2 years! And somehow I still want another one. How am I going to get more sleep with more kids? I’m crazy!
Zoë had those same at Titus’ age but hers were pink, I loved them when I saw them.
