You want it to be sharp, professional, and something that sets you apart from others. People, especially brands, can tell the difference from something that came with a free template, to a professional design. And when it looks like you put time and effort into your site, they notice and your chances of working with them increase exponentially.

“My name is Tanea and I’m a web designer + blogger based in Dallas, Texas. I’m mostly self-taught, and I’ve been designing, developing, and blogging for over 10 years. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Technology from UT Arlington. During the day, I work as a Web Developer for a company in downtown Dallas. It’s past time for an update. I would love something with some color and pop, just a fresh new look.
I haven’t updated my site in years – largely because I don’t love the program hubby installed for blogging. Now that I am making the switch over to WordPress, I need something that sums up all the zaniness that is our life on a mountain farm. A new design would definitely add to my enthusiasm to get it started again!
I’ve been debating making the switch to WordPress and this would seal the deal for me! 🙂
