Somedays (actually most days) it’s still really weird for me to think I’m a mom of 5 kids. Long lost are the days of sanity, sleeping, and quiet. BUT I welcome all the giggles, cuddles, and fun. We have newborn pictures coming up and we always get a family shot as well. I had a brilliant idea the other day to make shirts for the kids to wear. Why not?! It’s not like life isn’t crazy enough, ha!
The beauty is that these shirts were SO simple, the kids loved them, and they are precious! So I thought I’d share the love and give y’all a SUPER easy DIY applique shirt tutorial! You’re Welcome!

Here’s what you’ll need:
*sewing machine (and matching thread)
*shirt
*Double sided fusible interfacing
*fabric (your choice)
*desired printed image
*scissors
Place your image (in this case a number) with the wrong side facing the wrong side of the fabric and trace.
(My picture doesn’t show the number facing the correct tracing position, Oops!)
Do the same with the interfacing!
Cut out both images on the fabric and interfacing.
Next, grab your shirt and place your cut out images in desired position on it.
(Place interfacing down first, then put the fabric on top.)
Then iron it all down to the shirt.
This will make the fabric a little more stiff as well as keep it in place for when you’re sewing.
Sew a zig zag stitch all the way around your image.
And there you have it!
SO SIMPLE!! But oh so cute! The design possibilities are ENDLESS!
I mean really?! Couldn’t you just die over their cuteness?!
Now you can go make your own!
What would you come up with????

WOW! I love those kind of shirts and have totally payed big bucks on Etsy! Never knew it was that easy! Thanks for sharing that! 🙂
You have such a beautiful bunch of kiddos. My goodness, they’re sweet!! <3
Pinning this to a homemade gifts board. 🙂
Such a great craft + and Pippa is adorable!
I LOVE THIS! So doing it for next birthday. 🙂
I did the same thing with several shirts – except I don’t sew around the edges. So fun!
Way cool! Love Pippa’s shirt!
Thanks Todd!
Those are going to be some very busy brothers some day protecting all them ladies!!
