Last Monday my dad came over to the house and had a fun filled day with the kids! We now refer to it as the Estes Water Park, ha! I was supposed to be working…but I ended up spending a lot of time out having fun too!
How could you not?!?
Working on the set up!
So thankful for a large backyard!
My dad set up a tent, pool, two water slides, and a fire pit/sitting area!
Everyone started out with some bubble time!
Penelope some play time in her pack-n-play!
The kids LOVED the kiddie pool!
(So did the adults, HOLA!)
Ethan and Titus kept running and jumping into the pool screaming, “CANNON FALL!!” ha!
Then it was time for the slip-n-slide! Because of how little the kids were they didn’t get much of a slide, so Gpops slide them down! They LOVED it!
This was Ethan’s turn!
Then Titus
And lastly Paisley!
She was SO excited when she was finished she raised her hands in the air and cheered!
Of course Gpops and I had to take our turns on the slide!
Next up…WATER GUNS!
It was 3 on 1…but I think Gpops held his own, ha!
What can top water guns??
Water balloons!!
Paisley attacked Ethan…but luckily for him she has bad aim.
Then Titus and Ethan had a show down…they mutually lost, ha!
Gpops gave himself and each kid one water balloon then lined them up and told them to toss them “at Gpops”. But as you can see they only hit each other! Ethan’s balloon on the other hand went right to Gpops and burst on his chest!
We enjoyed some popsicles!
Penelope didn’t know what to think…but she kept shoving my popsicle back in her mouth!
While I was working on getting dinner ready I brought Penelope inside.
Ethan decided to entertain her!
I must tell you, that boy LOVES her and he is SO good to play with her.
Melts my mama heart. 😉
Dinner!
Hot dogs cooked over the fire pit with baked beans, YUM!
Don’t forget the watermelon!
Seriously, we have an obsession with watermelon…that stuff is da bomb!
(Ethan told told me to take a picture of his “cute face”…um okay kid…but that face scares me.)
Watermelon makes us act crazy.
Then we wrapped up the night with marshmallows by the fire.
We were all too tired and full to actually do the s’mores, ha!
The kids and I definitely had a GREAT day at the Estes Water Park! We MUST do it again! Say, tomorrow?…and the next day…and the next day…and the next day…..
I am so thankful to have family that want to spend time with and love on my kids.
What a blessing!

That is so much fun!
Looking at those pictures I’m reminded of how much fun I had on the slip and slide as a child. Why does throwing myself on the slick ground as an adult sound so dangerous and painful???
How fun! A perfect way to spend a hot day. Filing this idea away for later in the summer!
what a fantastic “gpops”!
