As we approach the week before Mother’s Day I wanted to share a few things with you. Motherhood is one of the biggest blessings in the world. Not only do you have the joy/pride of carrying your sweet little baby in your belly (I grow humans, what do you do?), but you’re blessed with the opportunity of raising that child. It’s all about sweet, teachable, patient, perfect moments for 18 years.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Because if I didn’t, then women wanting to be mothers would turn and run. haha!
If we were to compare motherhood to a job (because let’s face it, it is) then the results would be quite interesting. We are over-worked, get no sick days, and are under-paid. As a matter of fact, with each child we add, we get demoted…because our pay definitely does not increase. (If you’re lost….mothers don’t get paid, haha!) Once your children have grown up and start their own lives we will have lost our #1 clients and are essentially unemployed.
So joyous, huh?!?
Our “job” is not easy, but women keep stepping up to the plate to take on this seemingly thankless job. This is the down right dirty truth. I cannot lie to you and say all my mothering experiences are “challenging”, but I will tell you that the “challenging” ones are way more funny.
Plain and simple. So forget about those sweet, heart warming moments and let’s get real with the funny, sometimes embarrassing ones! 😉
This week I am having a few blogging mamas share their stories with you. I like to call these our not-so-glamourous mommy moments. You might be wondering, how could these ladies share and you?
Well, I have you covered. This blog has a plethora of those moments already sprinkled through it. Like these precious moments….
* Here I was published in Parenting magazine thanks to my pyromaniac boys.
* Or there was that week I claimed to be Supermom while Sam was away… Day 1, 2, 3, 4
* How could we forget all the places Ethan decided to “mark” his territory?
* Or his nudist ritual phase, right before he fell asleep at night.
Yes, I do believe I have and will have my fair share of these moments. So sit back, relax, and read along with other moms’ stories.
Plus….
