So onto her stories:
This was before I was technically a mom, but it is still a kid moment.
First up, is our trip we took before we were married. We wanted to take a family trip all 3 of us, Charles, Nicholas and I, so off we went to Mexico. Puerto Vallarta to be exact. We were all excited to be on our way to Mexico. It was only my 4th time to be on a plane but Nicholas’ first time ever to ride high in the sky. He wanted a window seat, so okay, fine he could have the window seat, I’ll sit in the middle. So we are settled in, our row happens to be where you can see the wings of the plane and watch them move the flaps in and out. So we’re moving right along, thankfully, we were up at 4 am to catch this flight and I was glad to be sitting down, finally. As we get up in the sky and all is well, it’s a beautiful day, no bad weather anywhere. As we get higher up and start to level out, Nicholas sees the wings pull the flaps back in and automatically shouts, “We’re GOING DOWN!!!!!!” Holy Cow, my heart stopped and my immediate reaction was to see if any one heard him, a few did, but they just thought it was some little kid being obnoxious. Charles immediately told him that was not good for him to say that, especially on a plane. But to this day, it is an inside joke with in our family and we laugh about it. That same trip he got an ear infection from so much swimming that I almost had to leave Charles and Nicholas in Mexico because the airlines don’t let you on the plane because you ear drum can bust. We had to call in a doctor, get antibiotics and pain medicine just 18 hours before we were to leave. In Mexico you can buy antibiotic off the shelf but they don’t come with instructions, so he ate after he had the medicine. He begins to complain that he feels sick, and wants to lay by the pool while we swam. This is our last day in Mexico and we are trying to make the most of it. After about 30 minutes of rest, Nicholas flies up, and what is a nice way to put this, ummm, throws up everywhere, right next to the pool. Thank goodness no one was sitting next to him. He jumps up and runs, throws up in the first trash can and then again in the restroom. We were done with our vacation at this point, we called the doctor, which cost us $110 USD, yes in Mexico $110 USD. The doc gave Nicholas some antibiotic drops and something for pain. The next morning arrives, Nicholas feels better and we realize on the way to the airport that we left about $200 in clothes drying on the balcony. Oh, I forgot to mention that I even fell off the bus during this trip and hobbled around down town Puerto Vallarta.
Isabelle, Isabelle, Isabelle. From the moment I knew I was pregnant, I knew I was having a girl. God was telling me this is going to be a girl and she will be your biggest challenge ever in your life but the sweetest…at times. Not even a year ago I was turning 29, June 15, 2010. Like most lazy days of summer, I wasn’t doing anything, just laying around the house, spending time with my kids. I decided, let’s get out of the house, I proceed to give Isabelle a bath and she is all clean and smelling good. It was my turn now. This was back when Isabelle could stand the play pin long enough for me to shower…about 8 minutes. 🙂 But today was my birthday so I took a little longer. Well, all moms know that this is your ONLY alone time. I was taking advantage after all it was my birthday. I’m done, ready and it didn’t take me long, this was a no make-up day. I proceed to enter the living room where Isabelle is watching TV and there she was naked and covered in poop, head to toe, covered and it was all over her play pin. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me,” I said to myself. I couldn’t believe it, on my birthday, come on!!! WHY ME!! WHY!!!!! On my 2nd birthday spent as a mom, I cleaned up poop, lots of it. Gave Isabelle another bath, took her play pin outside and used just about every cleaner I could think of to get the germs off. I may have said a few expletives here and there, too. I thought boys did this stuff, not girls. Here is hoping that my 30th birthday is much better. I love my girl, even on days when she is acting like me and I can’t stand it. She is truly her mother’s daughter and a beautiful blessing to everyone she meets. She just turned two and we are in potty training mode, but she is now old enough to tell me when she has gone #2, by saying, “WHEW STINKY!!”, over and over. 🙂
Oh the priceless mommy moments!!!

There seems to be a theme with these “Not so Glamorous” mommy moments! 🙂
I would like to add that Isabelle laid down to throw a tantrum in front of Hobby Lobby yesterday in the middle of the parking lot where the cars drive. Yay for embarrassment!!
