Sorry I am so behind on blogging; we have been some busy people. First we were all sick, then we were out of town, once we got back into town we had a busy couple of days. Somehow I don’t see things slowing down. Geez!
Anyway, on to the good stuff!
This past Sunday my dad became an ordained pastor. For those of you who don’t really know what someone being ordained means, it’s basically the church recognizing God’s call on someone’s life. It’s quite a big deal, and something he has worked towards for 7 years. My dad’s story on how he came into ministry is quite unique, and all God. He and my mom went from working great, lucrative jobs for Wal-Mart to quitting both their jobs and moving to Fort Worth (to attend seminary) in less than a month. To most people his decision to uproot his family and move to a new place without a job and a clear plan seems insane. But often the way the Lord works is unexplainable! One of my dad’s favorite sayings is “Where God guides, He provides”. Boy has he made that evident in my family’s life.
So here are the pictures from the big day.
My dad all fancied up. Doesn’t he look handsome?
He’s even wearing a paisley tie I picked out for him…yeah, he’s that cool!
The whole family.
Can you tell the sun was out…we were all squinting.
My grandpa and dad.
He and my grandma drove all the way down from Iowa to be here.
He bawled like a baby shed a tear or two.
My dad sharing his testimony.
Praying over my dad for his ministry.
I know God will continue to do mighty things through my dad and his ministry.
Stephanie even sang a song.
She sang Natalie Grant’s “Your Great Name”
So powerful!
Yep, my dad even preached!
Here’s a link so you can hear his sermon. (It’s the first one, and his ordination service is right below that.)
Is was such a sweet day, and I am so blessed to have been there for my dad. I tell you this man is the hardest working man I have ever known. He has such a heart for the Lord and desires to honor Him in all of his actions. Any church is BEYOND lucky to have him serving there as apart of their staff.
I love you dad, and I am so proud of you!

Congrats! That is a very special occasion!
That’s awesome! So proud of him!
Yay!! Congratulations to G-Pops!!!!
