Alternate title: The day one of my embarrassing parenting moments was shared with the world. It all started a couple of months ago when
@Parenting (Parenting Magazine on twitter) asked a simple question."Does your preschooler get into mischief with his/her friends?"As soon as I read that I laughed out loud. If only she knew my life. Everyday seems like a new opportunity for Ethan to create mischief....and boy does he. I quickly responded sharing a few of the crazy scenarios I like to call my life and I was shocked to get an email back from them. They wanted to know more.Oh geez.So the next couple of days consisted of emails back and forth and finally a chat on the phone with Parenting Magazine.Oh yeah, I'm that cool. After a lot of embarrassing sharing, laughing, and information acquiring I was informed that my little story would appear in an article in the April magazine. How crazy is that? I didn't know exactly which story she would pick, how long it would be, and if I would look like a crazy mom. But I would soon find out. Finally last week the writer sent me the link for the online article and told me that the magazine was in print. Sam was so excited and swore he had the coolest wife because I was going to appear in a magazine sold nation wide. Granted it would be a whole lot cooler if I got paid for it...just sayin'.Would you like to see said article?Of course you would. You all are here for one purpose and that is to laugh at the story I call reality. Don't worry...I laugh too. That's the only way I survive. ;)"If the kids are like…Johnny Knoxville & Co. (2 and up)
These rowdy playmates travel in packs—and often leave chaos in their wake.Official bio: Who says the Jackass buddies are the kings of mischief? Toddler and preschool pals (often sibs) can trash a room in seconds. Brittany Estes of Fort Worth, TX, recently came upon her sons staring at the family toaster—which they'd stuffed with batteries instead of bread—as it burst into flames. Luckily, Estes was able to push culprits Ethan, 4, and Titus, 2 ½, to safety. (The toaster, however, died immediately.)" - Parenting MagazineYep, out of all the stories I gave her the toaster catching on fire was a big hit. Should I be insulted that my boys were compared to the crazy, insane, vulgar Jacka$$ (sorry, I can't even type that) boys.Yes and no. My boys ARE crazy, insane, and if I'm kinda honest, the way Ethan throws around the words poop, pee, and calling people "baby head" is quite vulgar. Haha!I was kind of disappointed in the length of the article because I figured it would be more than what?...4 sentences. Haha! Nevertheless it's still a little exciting and my husband is insisting on us framing it. Yeah, I don't know. But for those of you who are like, Brittany, I must say this is the coolest thing that has ever happened...fear not, for I will autograph your copy of the magazine. Anything for my adoring fans.Don't you just wish you were this famous???

HA HA HA HA HA HA LOVE IT!!
That is so awesome, you are getting published already!! Girl that is great! They are far from those nasty jack whatever boys. Ethan and Titus are so sweet! 🙂 Heart them.
LOVE this story. Mostly because it makes my wild children seem normal. 😉
I can’t believe they did that! By the way, you should complain to the magazine about their choice of comparison!
Funny story! And kinda fun that you are in a magazine, but I agree with Crissy… I might complain about the JA comparison.
But seriously… here’s hoping #4 is a girl. 😉
I will probably have similar stories once my two boys get older. It’s amazing that Eva never would have dreamed of doing some of the things that Eli does. They are so different!
love this I laughed so hard! 🙂 and congrats on being in print!
Awesome!
And yes, they definitely should have paid you!!!
Frame it, girl!
HEYYY!!! I HAVE THIS ONE! CAN YOU AUTOGRAPH IT? 🙂 <3
Haha…. You have awesome kids! I wonder what I’d do if that happens to me! wahhhhh….
I love you blog already. And congratulations on your road to stardom! =p
