What better way to start this week of giveaways then with my good friend and photographer Kelly. I realize I have expressed my undying love for this woman and her photography before, but seriously, I CANNOT do it enough!
She has such an eye for photography…and no lie, I’m pretty picky and not that easily impressed. But this girl, she’s the bomb! Every time we have a photo shoot together I am not only excited to see what her ideas are, but I know that whatever we do we will be having fun and she will take some beautiful pictures. (regardless how this mama really looks, haha!)
About a month ago Kelly took my family out for a fun photo shoot. I remember what she said, “Let’s let it be fun, real life action photos.”…and I about dropped the phone. haha! How perfect, I have always wanted real photos. Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and place for posed one, two, three…say cheese pictures. But I really want my pictures to tell the story of my family. We are rarely all clean, not everyone cooperates for each picture, and sometimes one of my kids will do something that we are either embarrassed about or it’s just so darn funny we can’t stop laughing. I want to remember that. Here comes the tricky part…not all photographers are created equal in this category of photography…sad but true. Kelly, well it seems to be a walk in the park. I tell you the day of our photo shoot, she was laying down on the ground, contorting her body, and almost was trampled by my boys just to get the perfect photo.
Man, what a woman.
