Back To The Big News….
I was so glad to see so many guesses…even though they were pretty much the same, haha!
My big news has nothing to do with this:
(pregnancy)
Or this:
(a car…I wish!)
But it does have to do with this:
(iPhone 4…taken from apple’s website)
Yes everyone my sister and I, went and camped out Wednesday night in hopes of being one of the first people to get an iPhone 4. And this is how our journey went:
We got to the apple store about 9pm, so excited…and we were ready for a long night but knew it would all be worth it to get the new phone. This night was going to be so easy. I mean we were in a nice shopping center, we felt safe, the people in front of us brought board games and alcohol…so they would definitely entertain us.
Setting up our chairs
Our blessed caffeinated brew…this was supposed to help us manage the long night.
Definitely a venti!
Cards!
Our line…only back 40 people!
At about 11pm…two hours into our night, we realized that we were in the wrong line.
The wrong line!
Are you kidding me?!?! We followed the path to our correct line only to find that we traded our close, nice, classy, entertaining, safe line for a long, boring, shady, trashy line. Great.
Yep, our new location for the remainder of the night.
It wrapped all the way behind the building.
Back by the trash…joy.
A group of people brought a tv to plug up to watch movies, but we didn’t get to enjoy that. Instead we heard their loud generator.
new line
Had to entertain ourselves.
I mean, it was all night!
My partner in crime…thanks Steph!
Watching movies on our ipods
Six hours left!
like I said…it was a long night.
balancing the ipod on my nose
…and it fell.
sleepy time…not.
There was a guy behind us in line who happened to have the name Sam. Awkward! Anyway, he went to Walmart and bought snacks and monopoly to play. Great way to pass the time.
I’m pretty sure I was the winner. We all decided to quit the game after a couple of hours.
Anytime you needed to leave the line to get something, go to the restroom, or just walk you had to climb over the rail. This proved to be a less that pleasant task.
see.
four hours left.
this guy fell asleep in the middle of the road. Idiot.
Our line moved a little forward around 5am, so now we were right in front of a busy road.
SO ready to get this show on the road.
one more hour left!
and…
zero more hours left.
It was 7am and the apple store finally opened. let’s get to moving, the end was finally near.
Or was it. We sat in this spot for and hour, then we moved two feet up.
So who knows how many hours left.
Our chairs were packed away.
It was 90+ degrees outside and only 9am!
Getting real frustrated. Our line was only getting to go inside the store in a ratio of 1 person to the 10 people from the other line. If that. It was taking FOREVER…and should not have.
At about 11am, after 14 hours in line….

I had to leave. Sam needed to be a work by noon, and the kids could not stand in line with us. Though at that point we were in front of the apple store, it still would have taken a couple more hours to get through. Maybe I should have taken the kids; then I might have been rushed through the line. I was so angry, hot, sweaty, leaking (because I hadn’t nursed Paisley in 14 hours), and defeated. It’s not that they ran out of phones…I had to leave due to the second class way we were treated. Ugh. Can you tell I’m still a little bitter, haha! I mean sacrificing all I did, wouldn’t have seemed so bad if I had gotten the phone…but that didn’t even happen. I left empty handed.
So now I will wait and preorder the pretty white.
My big news turned out to be a flop…but I did get some pretty good stories out of it.
HOLLA!!

You are out of your mind!
2 questions:
1. What in the heck is on Stephanie’s feet? Are those shoes?
2. Did Stephanie spend the rest of the day with you and help with the kids since you got zero hours of sleep? Or did you do it alone?
P.S. I particularly like the picture of you trying to climb over the railing. I’m sure that was fun to do when you had to pee. Ha! 🙂
Haley- those are shoes that Stephanie is wearing. They are called Vibram Fivefingers…I did a post not too long ago about them. I LOVE mine! Oh, and I left the apple store and went home and watched my kids by myself…that proved to be real fun, haha!
Hey hey now Haley! I got zero hours of sleep as well. Plus I went out of the kindness of my heart, not because I was waiting for the phone! Haha
