When reading or learning about the history of theatre it is almost certain that you will come across Shakespeare, the greatest playwright. And while discussing Shakespeare you will learn about his two different kind of plays:
The Comedy and The Tragedy (like MacBeth and Mid Summer Nights Dream)
So in keeping with Shakespeare’s tradition, I would like to tell you a story in three parts. (you will see the comedy, the tragedy, and the last part has yet to be decided.
Bare with me, and take this journey into the lives of three (pregnant) friends.
The Three Muskateers Muskateer Craving Ladies
Intro:
There were three goo friends. It’s hard to exactly say what was the one thing that brought them together, but here are some contributing factors. They all three went to the same small church, were about the same age, husbands were in the ministry (or working on it), and somehow they all ended up pregnant together.
Part 1:
Part 2:
Tuesday (Nov. 10th) I received a text from Bethany saying she had been having some pain/contractions and she was going to the hospital to see if anything was wrong. We full expected to hear them tell her that she was overreacting and send her home. On the contrary, when she got there the nurse checked her and she was 6 centimeters dilated!! They began pumping medicine in her as fast as they could to try and stop her labor. I got a text saying they were going to try and transfer her to another hospital closer to the NICU, but that was the last I heard. Apparently when they thought everything was slowing down and they had a control on her contractions her water broke! Everyone rushed to wheel her into the delivery room, and 2 MINUTES later her sweet baby boy was born…28 weeks early. Tears were flowing, and everyone was scared, but the good news was the baby came out crying. He defied all odds (of poor lung development) and screamed his head off, while breathing on his own…I might add.
At 1:26 I received a call to head down there because the baby was born. Now keep in mind I had just woken up. When Bethany’s husband told me the baby was here, I said, “Are you kidding me? Am I being punked?” Yes I am that tactful, HA. I got up and rushed to the hospital to see them all. I consider it an honor to be able to be there for my dear friend to help comfort. Her husband ran up to the children’s hospital with baby Cohen who was being put in the NICU and I stayed with Bethany until they discharged her. And being the mom that she is, there was NOTHING in the world that would keep her away from her baby, so as soon as we were out of the hospital we headed straight for the NICU. Cohen is doing great for his age, and all the glory is given to God. I know that God has great plans for this STRONG, FIGHTER of a boy. And though I would never wish this “tragedy” on anyone, this family is so firmly rooted in Christ that I think many will be touched and maybe even come to know Christ by the way they handle this surprise.
You see I wrote “tragedy” like I did, because that is how many people would see this. But let me tell you, God was not shocked or surprised by the events, unlike ourselves. I do not claim this as a tragedy, just merely a situation where God is and will be glorified! And dear friends, there is NOTHING tragic about that!
I would ask you to be in prayer for this family, and baby Cohen.
Part 3:
This part of the play has yet to be written, but if I must say I do not wish to be the delivery talked about next week. (Because for two weeks straight someone has had a baby, and I am the next on the list.) So Paisley, your reservations in my belly are not up until March…just stay inside and be warm and cozy for the winter!
The End.
I hope you enjoyed my tale!
