Not too often in parenting are we blessed with such a word.
I mean to be quite honest, sometimes I feel like I am pounding my head against the wall. HA!
(you all have been there)
But then when you feel like everything you have done is for not. And often you feel like you and your child need to go to separate corners to break before the next boxing round begins.
(now the truth is coming) 😉
I LOVE my children!
And with that said, I really believe that God has blessed me with a little boy who knows how to make me lose my ever living mind!
Oh, I digress.
Whenever we discipline Ethan we sit him do and talk to him about what went wrong, and then quite often the chat ends in a spanking.Â
All of the the sudden we had a stroke of GENIUS, and began to pray after his spanking…to ask God to help Ethan desire to obey…and to ask for forgiveness for disobeying his parents.
Which brings me to the other night.
Sam was putting Ethan to bed and they began to pray together.Â
Here is Ethan’s prayer:
” Dear God,
I not listening to daddy.
I not obey him.
And when I not obey, he gives me spankings.
And he make me cry.
Cause I not obey.
Amen. “
HA! I busted up laughing! I guess something is sinking in after all!
HALLELUJAH!

I am glad to hear that you are having a successful time at getting though to Ethan’s heart with prayer. It’s amazing, huh?!
If you haven’t read it already, you would probably enjoy reading Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Ted Tripp. I’m not a “do it by the book” type of person, but this book helps Christians to apply verses to parenting. Let me know what you think!
Love ya!
